Partimage Backup

I recently used partimage to backup my hard drive partitions, I want to reformat it and change the size of partitions.

I also used it to backup my winxp partition and need to know if I can use resize2fs to resize it?

The question is can I use resize2fs to get the full size of the new ntfs partition without causing any damage?

Thnx.

Resize2fs is for the ext2 filesystem.

I guess I'll have to reinstall XP into the partition.

Thnx.

You could use gparted. Depending on your distro, it may also have a gui partitioner that can resize an NTFS partition. If XP is still runable, I'd recommend defragging the partition first. If you haven't installed linux yet, most installation programs will allow you to resize the NTFS partition as well. Just use the "advanced" or "manual" partitioning option.
