openoffice.org / MDK 2005 - installing problems

i've got a (probably simple) installation issue with OOo 1.x (have tried both the stable and beta versions with similar results). the error goes like this:

Installation failed:
installing package OpenOffice.org-l10n-en-1.1.4-7.1.102mdk needs 7MB on the / filesystem
(total package size is 167MB).

which, to my untrained eyes, looks like there isn't enough space on /. but according to diskdrake, / is 13% used, of a total 4.8GB.

what am i missing here? I know OOo will fit, as i removed it (using MCC) yesterday, to try OOo beta - now neither version will install!

the full error output is below, in case it helps... cheers!

To satisfy dependencies, the following 3 packages are going to be installed (167 MB):
OpenOffice.org-1.1.4-7.1.102mdk.i586
OpenOffice.org-l10n-en-1.1.4-7.1.102mdk.i586
OpenOffice.org-libs-1.1.4-7.1.102mdk.i586
Is this OK? (Y/n) y

installing OpenOffice.org-l10n-en-1.1.4-7.1.102mdk.i586.rpm OpenOffice.org-1.1.4-7.1.102mdk.i586.rpm OpenOffice.org-libs-1.1.4-7.1.102mdk.i586.rpm from /var/cache/urpmi/rpms
