No Sound in Fedora core 1!

My Fedora Core installation is detecting the sound card modules but does
not give any sound ..
i have asus k8vse delux motherboard with onboard sound card

Vendor: VIA Technologies
Model: VT8233/A/8235 AC97 Audio Controller
Module: via82cxxx_audio

with AMD 64 3000+

any 1 knows the solutions

Try a later version of Fedora Core. Version 1 is no longer supported by Red Hat. It uses the new 2.6 kernel which has better hardware support.

are you using alsa or the oss system? Also fire up any sound mixer and make sure the appropriate sound channels are not muted.

Actually i have installed FC1 because of its compatibility with LG3D "Looking like Glass " Project
its a 3d desktop u can look at it
