Need OpenGL extension: GL_EXT_framebufer_object

To make a very long story short, I am trying to get a program to run which relies on direct rendering. According to the application (and a bit of fiddling with the source) I need the OpenGL extension GL_EXT_framebufer_object, which does not show up in the output of glxinfo.

How can I aquire this? Is it even possible?

I'm not sure what information is needed to diagnose this issue.

This is a laptop with integrated Intel 945GM graphics card.
I am running debian Etch (some packages from Lenny).
I am using the "810i" module in xorg.

Thanks for your time.

I don't think your graphics card supports the GL_EXT_framebufer_object extension. And that has nothing to do with drivers, it's just the hardware. Maybe buy a new laptop?

That's discouraging. I hope you're wrong, but it gives me something else to examine. Thanks anyway.
