ok, I have netscape 7.1, and I installed mplayer, and did the cvs update, installed codecs from the site and installed the plugin for use with netscape, but when ever I go to watch a streaming movie on the launch website, or gamespot to watch streaming movies , even if it looks like its going to load and the bar goes and it says connecting, or buffering, but never shows the video, is this a codec problem or more?
Run netscape from a terminal and see what output you get when the mplayer plugin is initialized. I've found the mplayer plugin to be flakey some times as well.
went to gamespot.com, and the beginning movie in the videos section with the gamespot logo flashing up seemed to work correctly, however, when i click a video review to be streamed, it gives an advertisement (i can only hear audio saying the video review would play after a word from their sponcer) but then it fumbles with connecting to some random servers then stops altogether, with no network activity or harddrive activity and stays at a grey screen
