Mplayer high util and no launch

Using Mplayer-1.0pre6-1 on FC3 2.6.10 kernel I launch "gmplayer" for the gui interface and my CPU util goes near 100% and maintains but the app never launches. Any ideas?

check if you installed the skin, if not gmplayer get a error and dies y saw this error running gmplayer from a therminal

I did install a default skin. This is what appears in the term:
vo: X11 running at 1152x864 with depth 24 and 32 bpp (":0.0" => local display)
Failed to open /dev/rtc: Device or resource busy (it should be readable by the user.)

that is not a problem i got something like that and the program runs fine

/dev/rtc is mistery to myself i don't know what kind of device is this

mmm, i don't know maybe your hardware is slow, many programs open, short of memory.

RTC= Real Time Controller, but I can't think of any apps or services that would hang that. I've shutdown everything I can and I still get that error.
