Mplayer and EDL

Hi
I am using mplayer as my movie player and I want to censor some Advertisements from a movie. I heard that there is an option ´edl´ in mplayer by which I can censor any part of movie. I tried to work with ´edl´ but I failed. Will you tell me that how can I remove and Advertisment from the movie which starts from 304 second and ends at 368 second. Also I want to mute some part of movie which is from 26 second to 35 second. Can you tell me how can do all this stuff?
