Cool mozilla plugins & pdfs

Hi. I got a 3 year old Fedora distro a few weeks ago.
Seems ok so far with a few problems but I am solving them
with your help and it is so cool to actually get into the
guts and learn something.

Now my gnome pdf viewer stopped working.
I tried to install Adobe rpm package but it complained that
it needed "gtk2". What is it/where is it/how do I install it?
When I tried to install the mozilla browser pdf plugin I got:

Trying to install plugin for browser - mozilla
Installing plugin in /usr/bin/mozilla
Could not find the browser plugins folder /usr/bin/plugins
Installation failed

Also, probably related, I have no audio in Mozilla. But it
tested ok with SystemSettings > SoundCardDetection.

I think all this is because I have an old Mozilla ver.
How do I get these update problems resolved?

thanks...........don

First things first as root type, this will take a far amount of time and is important as many updates have taken place since Fedora Core 3 was released. By the way it is no longer support so getting the updates will help more than you realize. The update steps are in order and you really should update yum and the related packages (yum's dependencies first):

yum update yum
yum update

Now when done you should be able to install gtk2 by typing; yum install gtk2
