Hi,

I have a 2nd Generation 10GB iPod.
I have searched on Google everything about on how to mount the iPod on Linux.
Well, i got tons of pages related to that. I tried to go through them, but in the end i couldn't mount the freaking iPod.
The more i read the more i got questions.
The ieee1394 support is enabled on the kernel, which is 2.6.5-7.108
The libraw1394 is installed.

My computer is a Toshiba Satellite 5105/S701. Meaning, it's a Laptop.

I really don't know if the ieee1394 drivers work perfectly, but they seem to. But i am not sure, as the only firewire device i have is my iPod, and i can't make it to work.

Well, i hope somebody has the answer on how to do it. I am really thinking about taking out linux from my laptop just because of that.

Hopefully you have generic SCSI and scsi-disk support compiled into your kernel and a PC compatible iPod
If so:
mkdir /mnt/ipod
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/ipod
..Enjoy.
...It could possibly be another device ... 'tail -f /var/log/messages' will give you a better idea of what its doing.
