mail server / junk mail configuration

ok...so right now i am running (on debian sarge) uw-imap, ipopd, and postfix.
For webmail i am running Squirrelmail

My question is. I would like to keep the maildir support as i have many users so i like to keep their mail in their home user directory
ex:
/home/user/mail/Inbox
Sent
Trash
Subscriptions/linuxquestions
/freshmeat
Friends/firend1
Friends/firend2

So the mail dir has subdirs.
Storing mail in a users home is a must for me (convince me othervise)

My question is what is the latest and greatest solution?

Also, with all this junk (300+ mails per user) what is a good implementation of a junk mail filter. SOmething server side....to reject junk before it even gets there.

Any input on this is appreciated...i got to come up with a solution to test with SOON!

Thanks!!!

spamassassin

Look into Spamassassin. It's got plugins that you can install in Squirrelmail.

SquirrelMail is not my primary concern.

Most of my users use imap/pop clients and i cannot rely on the clients to do the filtering. Mozilla does an OK job...but junk still comes in.

Also last time i looked into i had problems with spamassasin and my maildir support

Any thoughts?

If anybody has implemented something like this, please post the specs.

Help is really really appreciated...i am running short on time
