Mail Server Configuration

I've searched all over the internet for information on installing and configuring sendmail properly on slackware 10. Haven't had much success. I don't consider myself quite a newbie, but sendmail is such a strange entity... it seems like you need a sendmail certification to know what's going on. Anyways, enough of my rambling... I have a few sites v-hosted on my box and I just want to be able to run a mail server to send mail and receive mail for email addresses associate w/ the domains. Many of the howto's I've run across assume that I know the little steps along the way like configuring mailertable, aliases and domaintables. So out of the 47 steps it takes to set things up... it usually turns out to be in vain because I didn't get something quite right.

I would greatly appreciate is someone can point me to an in-depth resource for installing any mail server on slackware 10.

Thanks!

This is not Slackware specific but it will give you a good insight into the workings of Sendmail, in-fact it has helped me with lots of things

Linux How to's

Just scroll down the page to Chapter 21 Configuring Linux Mail

Don't use Slackware so can't be any more help
