mail command

This is CRITICAL!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'm trying to use the basic 'mail' command and I don't seem to be receiving those emails from my other PC. Is there anything else that needs to be running to send this message? Sendmail is running. Do I need to specify our domain or something? The messages send to our Exchange server and then relay to the appropriate internal/external address. Does another mail client need to be setup or do I need to specify something similar to an MX record? Normally I'd use BIND, but like I mentioned before, we have a dedicated Exchange server.

Thanks in advance for your response.

Check your sendmail config and logs. Do you have it set up to relay for your local machines? I use Exim, and relaying is off by default in the config.

What is the syntax you are using to send the mail? If hosts files are written correctly then 'user@host' should work.
