I have SuSE Linux 8.2.
All I did was change the appearance theme from the standard SuSE theme to the included "Wooden" theme with the green Kicker bar and big orange border around the windows.
Well, since then KDE crashed. The desktop icons will not come back at all.
The Kicker does come up, but if I click on ANY button, it crashes again.
Is this a known problem?
Is this my distro (SuSE, is Red Hat more reliable or is that a myth?)
How can I fix it? I currently boot to a command prompt and type in "startx ___" where ___ is kde or gnome. Makes installing new drivers easier...
I am a Linux newbie but know how to nagivate the CLI.
Thanks!
