KDE cd folder with pseudo mp3 and ogg directories

Wow. How long has KDE been able to create mock folders in konqueror for a music CD? ie when you open it there are folders containing ogg files of the tracks, mp3, Flac, etc which you can just copy over so the ripping becomes transparent.

Never noticed it before although I do see a drawback in that you need to create the folder you're copying it to by hand unless all your tracks just lie in one directory, whereas a ripper will do all that for you.

Are they being too clever? My ripper doesn't seem to pop up when it encounters a music CD now, so I'm assuming it's new.

Its not that new - its the KDE magic of using slaves

Its propably been in there since 3.1 or maybe a lot longer.

But it might be a lot older - these virtual folders Vista was suppossed to have - long time in KDE

As its kio_slave technology it been in there already for a long time I guess .

The locate slave is really cool - unfortunatly copy from result doesnt seem to work for folders

I remember using this in KDE 2.x. It is a handy feature to have.

I've successfully used this to silence Windows fanbois in the past.

Yup, it's cute alright. Will probably install my ripper again though (had inadvertently blitzed it) as that creates the directory etc for the music to go into
