@bosewicht
Yes, it's there, but wouldn't your receipe kill all my preferences in KDE? So I didn't dare use it...
@AdaHacker
You are right, they are both there. I renamed (./*.old) first
Code:
$HOME/.kde/share/apps/kate/metainfos
since "metainfos" sounds like it. No such luck -> hard reboot. Then I did the same to
Code:
$HOME/.kde/share/config/katesessionrc
and
bingo that was it, no more automatically opened files.
**************************************************************
But: I did this as root. So when I tried to re-logon as user I found out that
all my users got a nice little popup, saying
Code:
Could not start kstartupconfig. Check your installation.
[OKAY]
No, not okay. D*mn, check how, what, where?
So I went back as root and run on a hunch
Code:
SuSEconfig
ldconfig
and, lo and behold, everything went back to normal.
So, be warned, anybody who tries this.
P.S.: Sorry to be back so late and thank you both for your help
.
