Installing software

I downloaded gkrellm-2.1.25 to monitor my computer, but i am lost on how to install it. The site doesn't have a how to so i'll try my luck here. I unzipped the package and now i have 3 directories... usr, install, and etc. How would i go about installing this package?

well that sounds like you got the .tgz file built for slackware, and if your info on the left is correct then you will log in as root and type :
installpkg filename.tgz

if thats not the case, then untar the file and look at either (or both) the README and/or INSTALL file ...
typically it is :
./configure
make
su -c "make install"

do yourself a favor and get something like swaret or slapt-get. then installing a lot of things is as simple as:

# swaret --install gkrellm
