First, welcome to LQ! Now, your questions:
1. If you didn't install Sun's jdk, chances are it's not on your sistem yet. Check with the following command:

rpm -qa | grep -i jdk
If it's not installed, head over to
java.sun.com and search around for the latest jdk (same place you'd go to get the Windows version, but under the linux heading, choose the self-extracting rpm).
2. I have no idea what this idea software is (no pun intended) but I notice that the install file ends in .bin which means it is some sort of script. Try running the command:
