install a kernel module without make menuconfig

Hallo all,

Just now I tried to upgrade my debian from kernel 2.4.xxx to kernel 2.6.20.2. There are some things lost including pcmcia service. I guess that I missed the corresponding options during make menuconfig. In order to avoid compiling the whole kernel again, I'd like to know whether it is possible to install individual modules into the kernel without using make menuconfig.

As long as you do not run the ' make mrproper ' command to clean the kernel build directory then what changes you do should only be the things compiled unless they are tied to others then they are recompiled. So run make menuconfig and make changes then finish with make, make modules_install, and make install.
