I screwed up Amarok in Mandriva 2006

http://amarok.kde.org/amarokwiki/ind...allation_HowTo

I followed the instructions to install latest amarok in mandriva 2006 RC2, added the dependencies, but it can't be completed successfully,
the screen appeared many C language compiling scripts that i don't understand, end of the day, not installed.
somemore, my original amarok can not run, error of :
gstremer not installed etc.....

the instructions are typical,
unzip with tar xjf *****
./configure
make
make install

but failed!

Why? Can u help me?

Why do you make it so hard for yourself?

Try installing the RPM pachage from any site like http://rpm.pbone.net/

Unless you have extended experience with compilations I'd use Mandrake's pachage manager witch gets the job wel done.

You have to download the pachages to a folder.

On your menu there should be a program called Manage sources or something like that.

In the program you add a local source, witch point to the folder you created and bingo.

Note: be carefull not to place any other files in that folder, otherwise RpmDrake will complain.
