mandriva 2006


hi all ,

i don't know why but i have a feeling that mandriva 2006 is a much slower than 2005 LE , ??? is that right ?? do any body feel this ??

i wanted to ask also wether any body know why i can't use my laptop wireless device to connect to the internet while running on battery ??

Strange. I have not tried 2006, but all other accounts I have read from others say the oposite: 2006 should be faster, and boot faster, than 2005.

2006 certainly seems faster for me and its boot time is faster than that of 2005LE and Suse 10 on my machine.

Are you using the official release? Because if you are using one of the betas or an RC, then it may still be slow. I love how fast it boots and how much more responsive the whole OS is now that I've moved to 2006

i don't know why it is slower than 2005 LE in opening applications , well it's right that it boots faster but it still slow in general ( at least that is how do i see it ... )

plz , any body know how to use the wireless device while running on the battery ... .. .

Do you have Kat running? Kat really eats up cpu cycles and memory, I uninstalled it as I do not need it. They have definitely compressed the boot cycle and maybe it might be a little faster I'm not sure about that though.
