how to play sound from QT application

m tryin to play wav files from QT
using

system("play x.wav");

so how do i go bt stopping a currently playin wav file
to start a new one??? Is there a better way of doin this?

the last time i used QT i don't think it did a wrapper on Linux sound so i guess the thing to do would be to use <alsa/asoundlib.h>
