how do i detect my internal modem in ubuntu hoary?


I am not able to detect my internal dial-up modem in ubuntu 5.04 so i am having troubles browsing the net. please people help me out tell me how to go about detecting the modem and connect to the net, i am a beginner to linux OS.

scroll down to the Networking section or the Hardware section. One of these should help you out.
