Unhappy Help with the installation of Sound Blaster Audigy 2 zs PLEASE !!!!

Hello all !!! Thank you for taking the time to reading this thread. I'm new in the Linux community, and just finished installing Ubuntu on my desktop last night. I'm very impressed with this operating system, and I'm loving it very much. I would like to thank all who have made this possible. I've had enough of Windows, and I believe it's a waste of time and resources.
Having said that, I'm having dificulties installing drivers for my Audigy 2 zs Sound card. I managed to find this link posted:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...rivers-364572/
But I'm really skeptic and confused since all this is new to me. I would hate to make a mistake and mess up the registry.
Any help is greatly appreciated !!!~
Thank you for your time !!! : )

At first, Linux doesn't have a registry, almost all configuration is made in plain text files.
The Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS should be supported out of the box, so you don't need to install drivers for that.
If you have issues with this card please post an error-description.

Since you are new to Linux and seem to come with a Windows mindset you should read this: Linux is not Windows

Hello Tobi. Thanks for replying to my post. As you can very well see; I am new to this all and I would like to thank you for pointing out that link for me. I will read it after I post this reply.
I do not understand when you say: "supported out of the box". What do you mean by this? I have no sound whatsoever.
To install my sound card, do I have to follow the steps indicated in the link previously posted?, by user Erik 09-18-05, 01:51 PM ?

No, that thread is from 2005, Linux has developed a lot til that time, your card should just work (that is the meaning of "out of the box").
Please open a terminal and post the output of the following commands:
Code:
lspci
lsmod | grep ^snd
You can also try the command
Code:
alsamixer
to see if your card is probably muted.
