GTK+ for Gimp 2.0.6

On the gimp website I am unable to download the latest version of GTK+ which is required for GIMP 2.0.6 latest.

However, I get the error:
Code:
The connection was refused when attempting to contact ftp.gimp.org
when I access the link on the site.
See: ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gtk/

Where do I get the latest GTK+ libraries and how do I install them on my system? I am unable to run
Code:
./configure
successfully without the GTK+ 2.2.2 or higher

Though if you install the development rpm for the gtk you have it will save you a lot of stress...

Thanks for that link

But where can I get the latest stable binaries for GTK+? And also, if I install the latest GTK+ is it compulsory that I install the latest gnome?

I don't understand these dependencies

That will really be a big download. I hope I won't have to.

you will already have gtk+2 installed, what you don't have though is gtk+-devel -2.whatever install that. or just get an rpm for gimp in the first place...

I cannot find binary version of GIMP 2.0.6 for Fedora Core 1 anywhere, only for Core 2. Will the rpm for core 2 work on core 1?
