gmplayer problem


./configure
./configure --enable-gui

su

make
make install

unpack skin in directory file:/usr/local/share/mplayer/Skin

im running redhat 8.0

if i try and run gmplayer this what i get

What are the permissions of the the Skin and default directories?

mplayer can be a bitch to install and get working.
Install apt-get and Synaptic, mplayer will install like a charm, no hassle it just works, plus you get lots of other software to install by just a few clicks!

You need to install the default Skin, run gmplayer, then you can switch to another Skin at that point So go get the default Skin first.

hey thanks master c worked like a charm. didnt know i needed the default skin first i thought any would work.
