glx? open gl? how to i get these workking?

i have SuSE 8.2 profesional, i have the latest xfree86, and latest nvidia kernal and drivers. but to play games i have heard you need to enable 3d exeleration, have open gl working.

all the guides i have found tell me just to have open gl working and not how to get it working, and the suse configurator,(yats2 and sax2) tell me i have it configured, so if you can understand what i just wrote could you please either direct me to a site with a good guid to this oor just tell me?

thanks for ur time,
the flickmaster

P.S, how do i get a mouse with a wheel to scroll?

I also am running SuSe 8.2

open a terminal and type 3Ddiag

This will tell you whether you have 3D accelleration or not.

If you have a ps2 wheel mouse, no problem, open SaX2 (when X is not running) and configure the mouse as

PS/2-Mouse;IMPS/2

and when in SaX2, remember to tick the box under advanced, to say it is a wheel mouse.

If it is a USB mouse, you may not be able to configure it in SaX2.

One thing though, I have been unable to get graphic accelleration AND the wheel on the mouse working together. It seems that I get either graphic accelleration OR a wheel. All in all I prefer having the wheel.
