nvidia glx

I think i have trouble with my xserver for nvidia,

I am trying to compile a new kernel 2.6.9 from Morphix wich is based on 2.4.21 ...

Whenever i used the 2.4.21 normal configuration ... everything works, and when i compile a new 2.6.9 it cannot find the nvidia driver ...

I dont understand ... i clearly state to support Framebuffer and Riva nVidia-based card ....

The framebuffer / riva drivers in the kernel are not the same as the closed-source drivers from nvidia.com. The nvidia.com drivers need to be reinstalled every time you change your kernel.

An easy way to check if you're using the closed-source drivers is to look at your XF86Config / Xorg.conf. If the graphics device has a line that says Driver "nvidia", these are the nvidia.com closed source drivers. Driver "nv" is the open source counterpart.
