DRI and GLX?
I have recently just install an ATI Radeon 9600 XT video card on my Linux box - Slackware to be specific. The card has been working fine so far, but if I go to use something that needs to use OpenGL or DRI on my X server, I receive this error:
X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 144 (XFree86-DRI)
Minor opcode of failed request: 5 ()
Value in failed request: 0x0
Serial number of failed request: 34
Current serial number in output stream: 34
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I could go about finding a solution to fix this problem. I have the ATI Radeon 9600 XT drivers installed, and I have configured X (v4.3) using the ATI tools provided with drivers. I also have libglx.a and libdri.a installed on my system and X is able to successfully load them. If anyone could help me out, it would greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It seems like a common ATI problem. Whenever I try to preview the Antspot screensaver, X crashes on me, and I'm using a Rage 128 w/ 16MB. When trying to run the lavalamp screensaver, I only get 3fps. This is on a 1.7ghz machine here. If I run the screensaver on my 200mhz computer with Nvidia TNT2 w/ 16MB, I'm sure I could get at least 15-20fps on the same screensaver. When trying to use the stairs screensaver, it draws each new frame in a series of blocks. I compiled the drivers for my Rage128 with my kernel when I made it (2.6.5), and have my drivers as r128 and display as CRT, but it didn't seem to solve anything. I also uncommented the load "glx" and load "dri", but that didn't seem to do anything either.
