Firefox missing libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0
Title says it pretty much. Firefox will not start and says:
Code:
symbol lookup error /usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0 undefined symbol: g_type_register_static_simple
I have gdk-pixbuf installed but that doesn't seem to be what it needs.
Oops. Almost forgot. System is Slackware.

Bump. There are very few results on google that have the same error as mine. Its like a page and a half, and the one that I think may have solved it is in some foreign language. I don't understand why the gdk that I have installed is not what is needed.

Maybe this link will help:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FirefoxNewVersion
You may need to download the library file first. I am finding the new version of FF a bit unstable but very fast.
Good luck, Michael

Well, I have tried that. And another thing is, I'm not really installing it in the typical way. This is on a Slackware CD before it is made into an iso image. So it installs using the Slackware installer.
