Ok, you will find in Linux alot of the time the application will not create a icon of quickstart icon for you. Like you said you know where the application is so you are halfway there. What you want to do is go to your desktop right click and create link to application. Through that point it is very straight forward. If you have any issues please post.

If you are on SuSE 9.1.

There is a RPM package on their ftp site for Firefox 1.0.

I just installed it. It created an entry in the KDE menu which i then copied onto the desktop.

I know i am going to get into a debate with the gurus of Linux.

But here goes. In SuSE, a RPM is an installer program like the .exe in Windoze.

go to their site at

ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/mozi.../1.0/9.1-i386/

and down load MozillaFirefox-1.0-0.1.i586.rpm

Then click on the file in your konqueror and let YAST install it for you.
