Konqueror and Firefox
I much more prefer Firefox for browsing the web over Konqueror, but I still like Konqueror for managing files in KDE. Is there any way I can change file associations so that links and web related items open in Firefox, not Konqueror? or am I stuck (a-la Internet Explorer in Windows) for Konqueror being my default?
Thanks again,

Go to System-> Configuration -> Configure your desktop, in there select Components->File associations then search for whichever associations you want to change (say html) and you'll get a list of filetypes possible (for me it's application and text). Select the types you want and check the right side of the screen. There will be stated the programs (and their priority) that can open the filetypes (you can add extra ones). Just move Firefox to the top and you're set
Don't forget to click Apply on the bottom right corner of the screen!

It's all good to post here since my answer was based on Mandriva 2006. I know that it's standard KDE but still, solutions are more distro specific

Hmm. I just realized that you said your reply was based on 2006.
I'm running 2005 LE, which has an older version of KDE, and it doesn't List Components in the Desktop configuration utility... Hmm..
Looking around still though, can anyone else out there help me?

I have a question that I think will be answered with purelithiums.
When I open my music folder for instance I would like to view the contents as a detailed file list.Instead it always opens in thumbs and I have to switch it every time.
I run 2005le also and use the kde desktop.
Is there a "remember folder options" or something similar?I cant seem to find it.
Thanks.
