i'm trying to compile eterm for the 500th time and as always it's saying i miss libast so i get libast 0.5 from their own site and it compiles and i try again and it still wont work...
i've had this problem on both redhat 8, 9 and slackware 9 and i've never been able to use Eterm and i've never gotten any help at all so i'm wondering if maybe someone else has had this problem and if someone can help me?
Läget?. Well, I use myself aterm. It was quite easy to get it up and running and it's cool to have the capability of using custom backgrounds images on it, as well transparency. (not sure if eterm also does though)
yea sure i have aterm now with waimea and i feel comfortable in it but i wanted to try fluxbox one more time before i give up cuz it seems as if the only time fluxbox works well for me is when i have eterm with all that comes with it(esetroot)
So presumably after compiling libast you have done a make install?
The question is when you did a make install, into which directories did it install the header and library files?
When you try to compile Eterm, is it complaining about a missing libast header file or the libast library file?
If you have installed either of these in non-standard places, have you specified when you ran the configure script for Eterm, extra directories to check for header (include) files and library files?
Have you checked the configure.log file for Eterm, after you ran configure, as to whether or not it found libast and what was the problem, if any?
