libast and eterm

i went to download eterm and it says cannot find libast, so i type 'y', so i could download it for me. It returns an error. so i go out and get libast and install it, then try to install eterm again. I get the same message. Did i not install libast in the correct direcrory? where should i install it?

do make clean first
