Hi,
I downloaded the library libICE-1.0.3-2.1.fc7.i386.rpm from redhat website using SSH. It gets downloaded successfully . However, when I tried to install it , I received the following error:

$ rpm -ivh libICE-1.0.3-2.1.fc7.i386.rpm

error: cannot open Pubkeys index using db3 - No such file or directory (2)
warning: libICE-1.0.3-2.1.fc7.i386.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 4f2a6fd2
error: can't create transaction lock on /var/lib/rpm/__db.000


What is the reason for this reason ? How it could be solved ? I would appreciate your suggestions .

are you doing this as root. It seems to me your not geting access to the var file folder. you have to be root to do that.other wise it is read only. and this is where it records (/var/lib/rpm/) all the installed files. and also checks to see if it is installed and also check for dependencies. good luck.
