Hi, thanks in advance for the good help, Im new to linux, I have been studying hard to learn it as much as possible, the problem is this, I wanted to install an RPM wich I downloaded it to my home directory, and chaged to root, but when I use the command to install it it gives me this message:
warning: user julian does not exist - using root
warning: group julian does not exist - using root
can you please help me understand what Im I doing wrong??
First of all, you have a source RPM (.src.rpm); and it is normal to get these warnings when installing source RPMs. But you have to recompile the source RPM and stuff like that. It is better if you get a binary RPM.
I really appreciate your response, this was helpful, I will be asking a lot of questions, I been using Windows for many years and this is a new adventure for me, I like linux, and Im going for the linux + to start, maybe later to get a red hat certification.
I already installed linux in my house and at work, Im a computer technician, A+, Network + certified, not much but thats a beginning for me, any good info on tutorials and practice pages would be helpful.
thanks in advance to all people that reply
