O.S info Mandriva 2010.0 KDE 4.3

I cannot use the equalizer on Amarok 2.2.0.Ive installed the Phonon-gstreamer backend and works fine-except the equalizer.When installing the Phonon-Xine backend i can use the equaliser but I lose the sound.Any reason why all this?Googling didnt make much...

What sound card do you have? Have you checked the OEM's website to see if they offer specialized Linux drivers? The equalizer won't work if your hardware or driver doesn't support it.

Sound card is just an embedded chip on the Motherboard(GA-8I915PL-G --gigabyte)
But is that the problem? I can hear everysound using every player-vlc-mplayer-exaile etc as well as using their equalizers.
I can hear system sounds and Amarok sounds as well!.-The problem is that i cannot use the equalizer of Amarok.Many forum users stated that using the Phonon-Xine backend instead the Phonon-Gstreamer one will enable the equalizer(of Amarok).It does so,however, Amarok doesnt sound anymore, it plays the files but no sound on the speakers!!
