Enabling GD Support for PHP4


Hi,

In my RedHat 8 machine i am using PHP4 as Apache Module. I would like to enable GD support in PHP4, still i like to use PHP4 as Apache Module.

Whatz the steps i have to follow to enable GD Support?
Whether i have to reinstall PHP as Apache Module?

OS Details - RedHat 8.0
PHP Version - 4.3.9
Apache Version - 2.0.52

You have to install the php-gd package that comes with redhat

Hi,

I have download gd-2.0.33.tar.gz file for installing GD in my RedHat machine. How i have to enable GD support in my PHP4 installed as Apache Module.

I think it's better to install the rpm package of php-gd. Check if this does your job. Else if you want to mess with source compiling, d/l the latest php and compile it using the "--with-gd" to enable gd support

Click on the package name: "php-gd-4.3.9-3 RPM for i386" on the top of the link I gave you to d/l the package.

To install rpm packeages use the rpm command:

rpm -iVh php-gd-4.3.9-3.i386.rpm
