due to the fact that i need to use the image fucntions from the GD library, i have downloaded the GD library, compiled and installed in my Fedora server.

Now, i have to recompile the PHP4.3.9 in my server to include that GD library. What are the most simplest steps to do the recompilation to include the GD libraries and yet maintain all my existing PHP configurations ?

Can i just do the following command to include the GD library support and maintain my PHP configurations ?

./configure --with-jpeg-dir --with-png-dir --with-zlib-dir
make
make install

if I issue the below command to my existing PHP server :

./configure --with-jpeg-dir --with-png-dir --with-zlib-dir --with-gd-support
make
make install

will it overwrite ALL my existing PHP configurations with the above configuration OR will it just UPDATE my existing PHP server configuration with the above configurations ?

FYI, when i first time installed my PHP server, i issued the following command :
