drives listed twice under gnome

I've just installed Gnome, after a few months of KDE,
i have switched Supermount off as it's annoying.
When I went to mount a cd under gnome and right clicked the screen to go to Disks, i noticed that both cd drives and the floppy drive are listed twice.
Once mounted, a cd cannot then be unmounted unless I go into KDE to unmount it. GNome returns a "cannot unmount, device is busy" msg.

Any ideas?????

I noticed before with Gnome (i'm using Mdk9.1) that before supermount was switched off the cd drives and the floppy were listed twice on the desktop, so this problem would appear to be not related to supermount.

Many ta's!

supermount is very buggy. In addition to switching it off you might try uninstalling it.

I have only used Mandrake once and that was when I was testing a program that is distribution dependent. I had to reinstall Mandrake to get rid of supermount so that I could get on with my testing.

I may be wrong but I thought that supermount was written by Mandrake to be a replacement for automount. If you have both installed then maybe supermount is a wrapper for automount.

Be that as it may, I think that your problem is that you have supermount/automount only partially disabled. I would continue the disabling process by uninstalling both supermount and automount and take them out of /etc/fstab if they are mentioned there.
