developing c++ programs on linux

I have centos 4.4 and I want to make some c++ applications for linux on it. All of my past programming has been on a windows machine so the whole linux development thing is new to me. I've found things on google such as IDEs and such for c++ but I haven't been able to get any of them to work (I think mainly because nothing seems to be made specifically for centOS.)

The target machines that the c++ daemon application I will be making is for other CentOS servers so I want to develope on a CentOS environment.

Anyways what are some c++ IDEs that will work well, on the top of the linux/centos scene?

I use Geany. It's Gtk-based, but doesn't require a bunch of GNOME libraries like Anjuta. However, Anjuta is nice too. If you use KDE, then kdevelop is another choice. The LQ Wiki has a page dedicated to IDE's
