Cross Compile Tools on Linux for FreeBSD

Hi All,

I have a Xeon based server box running FreeBSD 7.1. We do not want
to use this machine to run any compilation/build jobs. We want to
build our software on a Linux (Fedora/CentOS) based build machine and transfer the final binary to server. Are there any cross compile tools available on Linux which will create FreeBSD targets? I looked at crosstool and crosstool-ng and they do not have FreeBSD as one of the targets.

Any information on this will be of great help to me.

Have a look at http://linux.bytesex.org/cross-compiler.html - the information is obviously not very up-to-date, but the concept is still valid.

http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~p.../hp/cross.html is maybe a step nearer to your situation, as it aims to cross-compile a NetBSD Kernel under Linux.

Even so, you are likely to have quite some work ahead of you. In all honesty, I think you will be better served by setting up another PC with the same FreeBSD system that you have on your target server.
