Connecting to internet


Minicom problems ?
My account no username and password but in minicom let me both .
Connection is 56K.
how do i connect to the internet with account ?

how do you connect to the internet? 56k, ISDN, xDSL, Cable, T1, etc...

without that info, it is impossible to help you.

if you are using KDE as your desktop, then KPPP is the tool you are looking for. you might have to configure it the first time as root, i have no clue as ive never used 56k under linux.

also what distro are you using, that should help others help you further.

Are you use redhat?
Red Hat xWindows have a internet guide in system setting menu , follow that step by step configure it.
you should choose 56k modem,than .....
maybe i can upload some pics about it, tommorow.

It is a good idea to declare which distribution you are using. This helps much to the others who are using the same distro and you may also get your distribution specific answers.

Anyway, is your modem already detected by your Linux? This is your first job.

Then you may use wvdial tool, which RedHat / Fedora contains in their distributions. It is a command line tool and a good one to use with.
