Red face commands are restarting if i start xterm from menu & command execution failing from specific directory


i am running debian bullseye on userland (1).
i use twm to launch packages.
i have 2 issues:
(z) xterm commands are restarting if i start
xterm from menu (left clicking on screen)
(x) java command seems to fail executing from
wpcle directory

i have the following code in .bashrc:

xterm -iconic -fn 7x14 -geometry 177x58 -title wpc -hold -e cat ~/wpc.txt &
xterm -iconic -geometry 120x72+100+200 -hold -e lynx https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Jindam_vani &
xterm -iconic -e mousepad &
xterm -e 'cd ~/wpcle && java -jar getdown.jar . client -credentials credentials.txt en &' &
what am i doing wrong?
