Cannot boot to Gnome desktop (runlevel 5)

Hi to All,

I'm a newbie with Linux and I would like to ask for help regarding my problem in booting to Gnome desktop.

I encountered this error below:

/usr/sbin/gnome-session: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_option_context_new

I already reinstalled my NVIDIA drivers and also tried reinstalling FC4 to no avail.

This happened after I installed a free linux games which has gtk as a dependency.

thanks in advance.

I think the linuxgmes installed a different version of gtk.
Uninstall the linuxgame and check if gnome is running; if not you have to reinstall the package gnome.

thanks for your advice.

I already installed another distro of LINUX (Mandriva Linux Free 2006) on my PC and I'm very much happy with the installation since it already includes the things I need (VCD player, some games, CD rippers, etc.)
