Question buged file & replacement

Hello linux-friends,

For some days now i tried to install a program [gxine], but every time it toppled over the PKG_CONFIG_PATH. Close examination of tge "/usr/bin/pkg-config" file learned that it was a total mess.

Does anybody know if i can simply replay this file [by adding: "pkgconfig-0.14.0-3.i386.rpm"], or do i get other problems then.

Thanx

Marcel

An additional question:
does the "/usr/bin/pkg-config file" allways look like a mess?
