hey guys. i have been in mexico since thursday. during my stay here, i managed to get the toggledecor working. i found out that it HAS to be in the /home/user/.fluxbox/keys. so, basicly, i finaly understand what ~/.fluxbox/keys means :-D. what i did was, mod1 shift tab: toggledecor. i did this cause at the time i didn't know what mod4 was. i'm running into another problem now. it seems that if i start in runlevel 3 or 4 and enter into fluxbox, aterm acctualy uses the options in .Xresources. but, if i where to log into fluxbox from my session manager, it doesn't. it's realy wierd. it doesn't bother me too much, cause i can still use my gnome-term in fluxbox, and it's much easier to switch between styles than in aterm. i also have borderless g-term, since the fluxbox toggledecor key iw for ALL windows.

edited: ok, aterm is now transparent and no problems. it seems as though it doesn't use the users .Xresources, but the system wide Xresources. Finally done. thnx guys

here is a working link for root tail
http://goof.com/pcg/marc/root-tail.html
(1)
how do you get this to be placed on the bottom of your screen?
I want a system log on the just above the fluxbox toolbar.
I want it also to be very minimal maybe 5-7 lines high and running the length of the toolbar.

I figured this one out by screwing around with the example options.
75x5+360+675

(2)
how do you delete the unsuccesful attempts from your screen?

the only way i have found is to restart the x server.

(3)
can you put the configuration in your .Xresources for it auto configure on boot?

root-tail works under fluxbox....!

hmmm

as much as i like gnome, something tells me i really got to spread my wings a little and check out some of the other "evolutions" in the gui world....

i just took a quik look at fluxbox and discovered a whole universe that i should be familiar with!

and to boot, root-tail works just as it's suppose to!

now if i can only figure out how to set the damn background!

let me reinforce that !

i'm here playing with fluxbox and i'm finding the light weightedness to be very very nice! i can use the mouse wheel to scroll between work areas however if i'm on top of an app, only the app responds to the mouse wheel (aka browser, terminal, etc). but it flips thru the workspaces very very fast. i think my dell likes this fluxbox!

thanks again Linux - my Dell loves you!
