App for Displaying Useless things on Desktop?

Hi,

I was wondering where I could get that app which I always see in desktop screenshots. Its the one which displays tonnes of useless information, yet manages to look really cool. Things like CPU cycles, temperature, disk space, internet connection, temperature outside, etc, etc.

I've always wanted to use it but I could never figure out what it was or where to get it. Anyone know?

-thanks

App for Displaying Useless things on Desktop: KDE

I'm kidding...really.....that's what I do, I kid.

Some window managers (e.g. WindowMaker, ${randomword}box) also have a dock or slit into which you can put dock apps.

Thanks! I think Superkaramba is what I'm looking for. Is it also compatible with other window managers such as xfce?

I'm gonna try out gkrellm too.

Not entirely sure, but I don't see why not. I am sure the website has some information on that.... I would just try it and see what happens.
