amsn wont start.


I need help with amsn. it wont start I just get this message:

k1piee@k1piee:~$ amsn
Application initialization failed: this isn't a Tk applicationunknown color name "Black"
Error in startup script: can't invoke "wm" command: application has been destroyed
while executing
"wm state . withdraw"
(file "amsn" line 43)
k1piee@k1piee:~$

someone who can help me please?

I'm using Debian 3.1 unstable kernel 2.6.8
tcl/tk 8.4.11

Get amsn from CVS source (amsn.sf.net)
extract (tar zxvf <filename.tar.gz>
cd <dirname>
./configure
make
./amsn


That should compile amsn against your installed tk and get it going ok.

okej, I tryed that and it worked fine to install.
but when I'm going to start it I just get this text:

Application initialization failed: this isn't a Tk applicationunknown color name "Black"

and it stands still and nothing happends.
any clue what could be wrong here?

Sounds like it's actually the tcl/tk libraries that are the issue. Try recompiling and installing those, then recompile amsn again.

Sorry, but that's all I can think of. Either that or use Kopete

hmm, yeah I've alredy tryed that tons of times but it doesn't help.
