I have installed acidrip several times using trickkids instructions without any
problems. I just did an install on a laptop using the same instructions and it
seemed to go O.K. until I opened the program. All the buttons are there but
there are no labels or letters of any kind on the buttons or in the box. I know
I am probably missing something, but don't know what. Any help appreciated.

Just a guess but check you meet the requirements for GTK libraries.
