acidrip!!

This is related to an old post http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...5&pagenumber=1

I was on the lookout for good DVD rippers, so went and got myself acidrip!!!, heard it rocks...but am not able to see it in action, YET!

i installed libdvdread and libdvdcss as well. I even installed lsdvd, it installed fine without any errors, but when i tried to run it, i get the following error:
--
lsdvd: error while loading shared libraries: libdvdread.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
--
and acidrip says lsdvd not found, install it!!

i tried an ldconfig as well, still no use...

acid_kewpie, or anyone else can help me out in here

Cheers

A kindly soul wrote a How To Install Acidrip document. I have used it several times and can confirm it works. Read it through and follow it - it may be that you are missing something.

Hey XavierP, thanks for the answer...

Thats one heck of a resource for acidrip.

However, there is still a problem, i have done everything that the HOWTO described, but now i am stuck with the following error:
---

$ perl Makefile.PL
Writing Makefile for AcidRip

Running additional test to be sure acidrip will work
test for lsdvd: found
test for MPlayer: found
test for MEncoder: found
test for MP3 support in mencoder: Not Found!

---

I have installed *lame-3.96.1*

Still have the same error.....

I googled around for this a bit, but couldnt find anything substantial.

Let me know what to do!!

Cheers

Hi,

this is a compilation isue within mplayer. Either find a prebuilt version of MPlayer which includes MP3lame support, or recompile from scratch. when you complete the ./configure for mplayer, you'll be able to see whether it will or won't support mp3 once compiled. make sure you have the lame hedaers installed (lame-devel for rpm)
